pipe playerFriends Ross's wedding
There was a bouzouki sighting reported on a FB page. Folks recognized the instrument, but no one named the musician. There was also a piper and a whistle player. This was the hay day of the post Riverdance ITM in US TV. This episode aired in 1998. Anyone know who played in this trio?

From past discussions here I seem to remember Steáfán Hannigan was involved with that. Don't quote me on it though. But if that's your thing, you'll probably want to look in that direction.

Indeed it was Steáfán Hannigan. He's told me a few stories about that experience....
He was actually the only real musician in the group and played all of the instruments on the soundtrack.
The others were actors just faking it for the camera.
I met up with him in Goderich Ontario several weeks back. He played a slow air on one of those synthetic Carbony chanters. His playing - and the sound of the chanter - blew me away! Great stuff.
