Where have you been Gary? It's been awhile! Alas, I am living in 'interesting times', and haven't been very well. Hey Jon! Not really back as such, just kind of 'popping in to lurk' from time to time. These days I spend much more time playing my flute than talking about it, which is the way it's me...

Re: Wax For Tuning
Yes. Step away from your computer. Switch off your computer. Go play your flute. And keep playing it until you've forgotten all about tuning software.srt19170 wrote:Any advice or specific recommendations

Re: Movie Remakes
Good remakes: Cape Fear Are you serious? Robert Mitchum was brilliant in the original, genuinely menacing, and not once did he have to resort to the cheap 'techniques' of foul language, blood, gore and violence that Scorcese stooped to. Mitchum was the DB's in the original, De Niro little more than...

so I suppose there are no trades descriptions issues. Aside from their definition of Britain. No Scottish audition and no-one from Scotland through to main stages, or at least that's what I was told. Did they have Cardiff and Belfast auditions? The winner was from Port Talbot, over there in Wales. ...

The only London-based maker I can think of off the top of my head is Robert Bigio, but I don't know if he does repairs. http://www.bigio.com/contact.html Outside of London, Chris Wilkes springs instantly to mind (Herefordshire) http://www.wilkesflutes.co.uk/Site/index.html And Dominic Allan, but I'm...

Seriously? That's worth picking up on? How anal would you have to be to even care about something like that? I've got a whole pile of westerns at home that I'm pretty sure don't use authentic language either. Same with the costume dramas my mum likes. I never said I cared. It just stood out, is all...

Happy Accordion Awareness Month!
It's National Accordion Awareness Month in the US of A.
Frankly I've always been aware of accordions, especially the piano variety, but hey-ho! Have a lovely time y'all!

Quite so. Particularly with all the condensate that usually drips out the bore and is swabbed out (or should be) after playing. Staining in the bore is more likely to be dried-in oil. Can't say my Hamilton ever had a 'mirror finish' in the bore even from day 1, though it looked shiny enough fresh-co...
