Well, I went to bed at 1.30 and it was quite cloudy, so I didn't bother setting the alarm.

Although it was red, it was a dull, flat red, like a dried blood stain. What amazed me more was how much brighter all the stars were in contrast around it, even here in the city. At -14°C and me in my pj's, I did not linger long.

Here it was an orange-ish color. Very clear out @ 10:26!

I had forgotten it was going to happen Wednesday night until I checked my e-mail around 10 PM-- I had gotten a "You are receiving this email because you are watching the topic, "Moon Slide Slim" at Chiff and Fipple Forums" notice.

Woke up the kid and phoned several friends!

I think he meant it was vividly descriptive, maybe the sort of thing you'd read in a Harry Potter book.
