Very impressive. Much more professional looking than my efforts today in grey PVC conduit :-)

it will have to wait until the sun comes up... the third register is purty darned loud :) I'm thinking Carrikfergus... I don't see that in the Clips N Snips anywhere... As for the color combinations... that's why I did it... Close up the tubing looks like ebony... it feels like wood too... but much lighter. ANd water proof :)

Very cool looking! Have you tried drilling that carbon tube yet? Does it fray much?

Grey PVC conduit is virtually useless as whistle making material.
I've used every other variety of PVC with no problems, but grey conduit is an extremely poor gade of PVC.
It's brittle, and it has a gritty substance like sand in it... and maybe it really is sand! :P
Don't give up on your whistle making attempts just because of your failures with grey conduit... try some CPVC or white PVC water pipe and see if you don't have better luck.

Gary Humphrey

Tell us something.: I play whistles. I sell whistles. This seems just a BIT excessive to the cause. A sentence or two is WAY less than 100 characters.

That window looks HUGE. I think I had to inhale just to keep the picture from sucking out my lungs!!!!!

The window is like 7/16x7/32 not very big at all.
It in fact drilled fairly easily. I had to drill pilot holes because... well... a center punch would destroy the tube, as Long as I went fairly slow with the press it drilled fine.
You would be able to see the holes if:
A) My camera wasn't so sh*t, and
B) If the Tube was lighter in color....

Have you noticed any corrosion at the junction of the fipple and mouthpiece ferrule? Dissimilar metals in the presence of electrolytes (as in saliva) will undergo electrolytic changes and may produce corrosion in time. The amount depends on the types of metal, strength of the electrolytes, etc. In essence it creates a battery! This is also what happens when you bite down on a bit of aluminum with silver tooth fillings. It may or may not pose a problem longterm in your whistles.

Nice pictures! Where did you get your plans? Do you think you could tell us how you went about it? Surprises, etc...

Cheers,
Tony
