Guess that's where I stand too. I sympathize with Susan's more conservative stance, but have hung around long enough to feel that one of C&F's most winning qualities is the lack of restrictions, and I've thanked the moderators for that before. Overall, the interests and intelligence of the personalities who post tend to keep the crasser content in check without completely eliminating it.
Except in extreme circumstances, I believe it would kinder to let the board self-regulate through the usual give and take rather than pester Dale with it. He's got enough kids.

Okay! I'll attempt not to opine for a bit longer!

seems reasonable, that's what he gets for hosting this thing!

What it comes down to (as has been said before) is if this were Dale's living room, and he'd invited you over, would you behave the same way? If Dale had asked that you respectfully decline from particular behaviors while in his home would you ignore that request? What if it was his apartment, and his landlords had written into his lease that certain types of behaviors were unacceptable. Would you still behave the same way then?

This analogy isn't too far from the mark. The board is hosted by folks who have a particular set of moral and behavioral standard requests. If it keeps getting pushed further and further, the board may simply cease to exist. Then where would everyone go to bitch about everything that has nothing to do with whistles?

The tone is jestful here folks, but the implications may be more serious relating to this board than some perhaps realise. Just wanting to offer some perspective from one who has seen a few incarnations of this board come and go over the years...

Right, and while you're being asked to leave, it may be a good time to reflect on why.

OK, while Stacey's avatars are not?
The only difference to me is the lack of pics. Other folks, of course, may feel differently. I personally enjoy a bit of risque humor (in fact, Whitmores sees a side to me at session that I never dispay here). I just hate having to copy and paste threads into Notepad at work when they have pics I'd rather not be explaining to the boss, were he to glance over and see them.

Talking about moderators, and thinking about how much stuff happened on this board this few past years, I had a nightmarish vision. With some advanced technology, I could grab that vision and turn it in .JPG format. Here it is!

While I felt it important to take a stand I truly regret that I lack the skills to have done it without leaving Stacey feeling like crap.... :(

your skills didn't fail you. Don't worry, Stacey will feel better and be back soon, I predict. I'd miss her looniness.

Turn off pictures in your browser. Or use Mozilla Firefox with the "addblocker" option, which lets you block things very selectively. Or use Ghostzilla, a browser created to make it easy to hide your surfing from the boss. :-)

We wouldn't want you to stop Web surfing in company time, this would be no fun! :D

lol...actually, configurations settings are rigidly controlled here (working for a credit card company)...I don't have access rights to change any of them, nor to install unapproved software..:(

You know, when Stacey started posting on this board I thought she was wierd and didnt really like her. Today, I think she's giving this site lotsa "life" and "colors" and wouldnt want her out at any cost.

I still think she's a little wierd though ;-)

(but she knows that she is!)

Stacey's an artist. In order for artists to create what they do they have to operate from a different place. People often see them as "quirky" or whatever. They have to exist in that place in order to bring something new into the world. It's like when you're playing a song and you kind of drift off. A fine artist I know here in Atlanta calls it moving outside of his mind to allow the work to manifest through him. Artists just always have to be there. ya know? It's really cool IMO.

Trying to get there,
-Paul
