Oh dear. What with that and getting hit by cars I'm starting to feel I should open up some sort of refuge for them. They can't see very well either. Honestly, they do have some problems.Nanohedron wrote:Did you know that the nine-banded armadillo is one of the very few animals other than humans that is known to be able to contract leprosy? Poor things.
No, no, no. The bats were just a side issue.djm wrote:I'm afraid I'm having trouble following all this. We started out with armadillos, and then we progressed to trying to get the armadillos to jump straight up into the air, and now it seems that once the armadillo has jumped straight up into the air, you're supposed to try and hit it with the bat (?). Is this, like, some sort of regional sport or something?

It's croquet like in Alice in Wonderland.
Here you can see a fellow trying to gently massage an armadillo through the wicket.
You never ever hit them. You just sort of gently nudge them along and speak softly to them.
The main difficulty is that, once the armadillo realizes it isn't going to be hurt, it starts coming
out of its ball-shape and may even start digging for grubs in the middle of the game!
Of course, surprising them by loudly expressing your dismay is the worst thing you
can do because then the armadillo will be jumping straight up in the air!
This is considered a fault and the good sportsman will call it on himself.
So just think, maybe we should be calling you Habapeno instead of Caroluna . Or maybe you're a Rocolano or a Serratillo. Good lord!Caroluna wrote:Heard from my dad today--

Sialkot, i.e. from Pakistan
But yeah, neither Pratten nor Rudall, but their mutual rival "C. Alcott".

I know that oiling your flute can be a very technical and contentious question. In this case I think you'd want to use a blend of one part capsaicin to two parts armadillo oil, don't you agree?djm wrote:I think its a combination pearbox Prattle.Caroluna wrote:is that boxwood or pearwood?
