O Mister Planarium,
Which end's your tail?
I try to discern it,
But always I fail.

Walden, that's a lovely pome! I read it to Marian. It let go of the food pellet, it was so overcome.

Gonzo, no, I won't let my planarian go outside! At least, not without a leash.

You read it to Marian? I think you were supposed to sing it to her, oh, it, I guess. It goes to the Mr. Sandman tune.

The wonders of Youtube. Great video.

So Gonzo, if you made all that up then could it be you also made up the whole history of East and West Consin?

Do you mean this one?
East Skonsin, which was formerly known simply as Skonsin until West Skonsin broke away in 1848 in a dispute over drilling rights, was absorbed into Michigan in 1917 when it was finally acknowledged that there was nothing there to drill. Michigan, however, was not told about this until the mid-1950s, at which time the Supreme Court decided that there were no "give-backs" allowed.
I prefer to think of it a "composite history." East Skonsin is a "composite state," combining elements of real history (for example, 1848 and 1917 are real dates, and Michigan is a real state), with speculation concerning the catalysts of real events (Just why is Michigan in two chunks?), then stirring in a dollop of hyperbole and just a soupcon of mescaline-induced flashback.

Real facts are so very dull and can often be improved upon with the application of just a little inspiration and effort and a willingness to work outside the box.

OK, I just only now finally got this. Is that Marian the Planarian as in that great Meredith Wilson song from the musical "The Music Fluke."

That's the one. I'm glad it's all true. My world view was being disturbed.

The very same! Coincidentally, all of my music theory comes from this movie!

Music Man is the absolute best of all musicals ever, anywhere. I was once on a six-hour car trip with only a Music Man cassette to keep me company, and ever since then, I've been able to recite Trouble at the slightest provocation, which is usually about three glasses of wine. Unfortunately, the opportunities to recite the whole thing aren't that frequent, so I usually have to stop at "libertine men and scarlet women and ragtime, shameless music that will grab your son, your daughter in the arms of an jungle animal instinct MASS--TERIA! Friend, the idle brain is the devil's playground -- Trouble" because it's hard to find people who will join in.

For a straight guy, gonzo knows way too many show tunes.

I hope and I pray for Hester to win just one more A.
