I know how terrible tendon problems can be -- but that being said, why sell it? Why not hang onto it until the problem is (hopefully) gone? It seems like such a shame to sell a beautiful instrument you love because of an injury!

Bodhran

Post by Kansas »

If this heals, I probably will look into another. But my love is in Irish Whistles and I don't want to affect that or my work. So, a nice instument will hopefully find a new home. I won't give it away. And the funds can be used for other instuments that I can use - whistles etc.

In the meantime someone else will have a great bodhran to use.

A few years back, I sustained a horrible wrist injury. It took a full 18 months to heal, and I NEVER want to go there again. My paycheck is very necessary to my family.

That being said, every time I picked up my silver flutes or my low whistles, I started feeling the beginnings of that same sensation in the wrist. Why risk it?

I can play soprano whistles and Irish flute just fine. They are my preference anyway. One can have a beautiful instrument to look at, or sell it off and use the money for something one can play without injury and thus derive a lot more enjoyment. It's all in how you look at things...

Yes - and I can play whistle a lot better than I can play the Bodhran too!!

Back to my love of the whistle until it heals.

Thanks for the encouragement

I've let a friend know about it who might be interested ... I'll relay to you if he is. Sounds like a dandy.
