Geez, I hope they're not that expensive in Ann Arbor. I'm quite looking forward to the chance to hear John Carty play, now that I know who he is. :)

Tell us something.: Of course I'm not a bot; I've been here for years... Apparently that isn't enough to pass muster though!

I saw the band on their British tour last year, and they were SUPERB(!)
I think that my ticket cost about £12.50,if memory serves me right.

That's interesting. Patrick Street is playing in Montana on March 4 and I'm paying $17.50 for my ticket.
Just goes to show that the promoter is the one determining ticket prices. The performers have their set rate (either guarantee plus a percentage of the profit or some other variation thereof), and everything else goes to marketing, venue, and staff. I think we have a little less overhead here.

The New Paltz show will be in a small concert hall with only 95 seats. The organizer of this event is a friend of mine and he is doing this because of his appreciation of Irish music. There will be little if any profit from the show even if all the tickets are sold. Right now there are only a few tickets left.

Saw 'em tonight. They were obviously road-weary but played some damn good music. Andy Irvine does not look that healthy which makes me a bit anxious.

A very inspiring evening and I'm glad I went.
