Tell us something.: I am interested in the uilleann pipes and their typical -and broader- use. I have been composing and arranging for the instrument lately. I enjoy unusual harmonic combinations on the pipes. I use the pipes to play music of other cultures.

Great Northern Irish Pipers' Club Tionól, May 13-15, 2011

Post by tommykleen »

Hi Uilleann Pipe Enthusiastos,

It's with pride that the Great Northern Irish Pipers' Club proudly announces (in case you haven't heard by now) our Tenth (10!) Annual Tionól, this May 13-15. Special Piping Guests include Blackie O'Connell, Pat D'Arcy and Sean Gavin.

The weekend of workshops will be aboard the Covington Inn Bed and Breakfast in the heart of historic Downtown St. Paul, Minnesota. The Tionól concert (on Saturday the 14th) will be at the incomparable Celtic Junction.

Go to the GNIPC website for details and registration.

See you there/here.

I'm very jealous. I'll be flying by (literally! two hours in the airport) but can't work it out to stay for the weekend.

Have a great time! Play some good tunes. Patrick, meet Sean, and say hi! Have a blast!

In a word, it was brilliant. I would elaborate but I'm too tired to continue...
