Tell us something.: I am interested in the uilleann pipes and their typical -and broader- use. I have been composing and arranging for the instrument lately. I enjoy unusual harmonic combinations on the pipes. I use the pipes to play music of other cultures.

Congratulations Tommy

That is a Fantastic looking set, and if it is anything like Patrick's, or any of the other K&Q sets I have seen, it plays even better than it looks.

I take it that you will be at our Tionol in a few weeks? I look forward to drooling all over it.

I will be sure to bring a deflector, much like they have at a salad bar. :)

You could wear it around your neck. Very futuristic!

At present Mark Donohoe is not making full sets that I know of. He is still in the R and D stage. He might have regulators soon. About a year and a half ago he said that he might be ready to take orders for them by the end of 2006.

I have not followed up on that though.

Just out of the BOX. Michael Hubbert concert D set. :D :D Ebony,Brass,Mammoth. The Mainstock is a Hollow made of stained figured Maple.

The Bass reg has a innovative tuning system ,and the reed is in the upper half of the Reg bar.

The finish of the set is superb to every detail. The reeds needs to be settled for a while but they are in tune and has a good balance.

Oh yes,the reed usually located in the upper half :P Difficult to describe with my English skill, but I'll try to explain,

The reed remains in the upper section of the bar when the bar is removed.and the upper section works as a a telescoping sliding tube. The upper half itself consists of two brass tube and the reed sits in the lower part.

What is good too is that You don't need to touch the reed when you break down the reg and put the pipes in the case.

Sorry if this is done by other pipemakes.
