Hi lads, a friend of mine is thinking about buying a set off this maker Mark Donohue from Kerry.
I was just wondering if anyone here plays or has played any of his pipes before? I havent come across any in my travels. any thoughts? thanks

Re: Mark Donohoe
I know a local piper who plays his half set. The craftsmanship and design of the pipes is gorgeous and they sound just great (even in dry Arizona). I haven't been able to actually play the set myself since I'm a lefty player but I have played the chanter which was very nice.

Speaking from personal experience I’d highly recommend Donohoe pipes. I’ve come across quite a few Kerry pipers playing his pipes and they were all excellent instruments. His consistently high standard of workmanship and performance, I think is very important . It is a quality that was lacking in some makers in the past.

I own a set of his pipes and highly recommend him. Here is a clip of him playing his pipes.
