SCUPC Concert CD's

Post by misterpatrick »

Hello all,

went to a great party, ahem, tíonol last week in beautiful southern California. They dangled a delicious carrot over our heads this year offering a MP3 CD of all the past tíonoil concert recordings just for joining the club. So I now have my official club tattoo and have transferred the tunes to my computer. Now, I am slightly insane when it comes to organizing my music collection which as I take a quick peek, is up to 33,000 songs and tunes. The collection is nicely organized but is missing a few things. I'd love to get tunes names for any of the concerts if anyone has them, and especially artist names for the years lacking them, which looks like 2004, 2007 and 2008. I am going through and adding them but not all of the tracks have banter on them so there remains a few mystery tracks.

So, if you've already gone to the trouble with this great collection, post the info here or send it my way. Thanks!

Hey Pato,

Some of the info can be found at www.socalpipers.com such as who was the guest that year. Track names, if not introduced by the artist, is anybody's guess.

Patrick.

Pat,

Any word yet on how this year's recording came out? The concert was fantastic. I don't recall if I mentioned it to you before we left but very well done yourself. I very much enjoyed the tunes you and Kevin played together.

Thanks Señor D'Arcy, the main artists are easy enough, but it's all the opening people who are tricky to figure out. I'm obsessive about my MP3 ID's, but I'm also lazy.

As I listen I try and fill out the track names. Take a while though.

Straycat, Michael Eskin is traveling for the next few days so I'm sure he hasn't had a chance to go through the recordings yet. I heard a brief snippet and it sounds great.

It sounds to me that you are the very yeoman we are looking for Patrick. Any you figure out please let us know.

Hi Johnny, the recording this year turned out well as far as I know. Larry was to pick the CD's up yesterday. Haven't heard any more than that. We shall see :) Larry... you on the hop today? ;-p

Linda, my (much) better half, picked up the CDs of the concert that Ben Power was kind enough to put together, but they were handed straight to Kevin Rowsome as he prepared to board a plane back to Dublin. Short answer, I haven't heard it yet  Indications that they turned out well--all subject to nihil obstats from the performers.

I never have gone through the recordings and listed the tune names. Sounds like you have a project ahead of you Patrick, hope you'll donate the annotations back to the club. :-)

Cheers,
