I received an email today asking for contact details for Drew Hillman. He is seen in a photo taken by Peter Laban on my website listening to Declan Masterson at Willie Week. If anyone has contact details please PM me with them.

Thanks,

Pat.

Hiya John,

He was playing with Riverdance there for a while. I'm sure he's still recording and engineering too.

Is that the same Drew I bumped into at the Crane bar in Galway town 2006? A piper who lived in Galway at that time? just curious.

Small world I was at the same Willie Week class in 1991 and met him at the Crane or Pelican pub in Galway in1998.
Or maybe I'm starting to lose it.

Oh, that's him all right. Once upon a time, you could also find him in the worst bar in Liscannor, in the company of another Yank and a Sewth Efricen, at the feckin' racket every Saturday evening.

Got that right.

I think Eugene Lambe's son used to play guitar there with them, too. The Sewth Efriken was a nice fiddler as I recall. But the craic over the hill in Doolin was way better, what with the local fiddling chef, the stellar peewee squeezeboxer, and the fabanjo plunker, (not to mention all the blowins....)

BTW it's Hillmann (w/ two n's.)
