One of those add a caption to the photo threads .
I found this photo via the Boris Favre thread. It was taken at the NPU pipe measuring course given by Geoff Wooff and Cillian O'Brien .I dont know what they are doing ,but its one of the funniest photos I,ve seen in a long time.
What do you think they might be saying to each other ?
Heres my guess !
Geoff is saying ---- right lads, here we are at the William Kennady pipemaking course.
One of the lads--hold on Geoff ,I can't find my pencil.
I'm with the winemaking course,am I in the right room.
Who's rubbing my leg.

- Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

"Right gentlemen, I promise you that by the end of today everyone will be able to make reeds with their eyes shut, or not at all. Now let's check the equipment. If you feel around in front of you on the desks you will find that you have all been provided with a Stanley knife...."

The perfect caption is one that was reputed to have been said by a non-piping member of one of the post Planxty/Bothy era bands, just as his piping band-mate was climbing into his pipes at the end of a break.
He paused, leaned over to the microphone and told the audience, "It's a good job them things don't smell!"
~~
I'll probably think of who was supposed to have said it at about 3 AM this morning, and have forgotten again by the time the alarm clock goes off.

And now there was no doubt that the trees were really moving - moving in and out through one another as if in a complicated country dance. ('And I suppose,' thought Lucy, 'when trees dance, it must be a very, very country dance indeed.')

- Tell us something.: I am interested in the uilleann pipes and their typical -and broader- use. I have been composing and arranging for the instrument lately. I enjoy unusual harmonic combinations on the pipes. I use the pipes to play music of other cultures.
