Post by josh perkins »

Lemonwood, 4 drones (G drone in addition to 3 C drones), keyless chanter with wooden reedcap, brass and imitation ivory. Tenor drone is missing base mount (flush to mainstock) as it cracked and fell off. Padded bellows. Chanter reed and spare by Alan Burton, drone reeds need to be reworked/replaced. Email for pictures, offers over $1500 entertained. Shipping and insurance additional.

Those are lovely pipes. I actually have a different picture of them that I use for wallpaper on one of my computers.
Perhaps it would be useful for potential purchasers to know if David has any spare mounts in his inventory that can be purchased for use on the tenor drone.

Best.

Looks pretty much like the pipes mukade once owned. Or is this that particular set?

So tempting...

it's the same set, I believe Mukade gave up the UP's for greener pastures. And yes, I can replace the mount for the new owner no problem.

This is certainly one set I'd LOVE to re-own. The fourth drone I made for Joe Smith's pipes is nice, but on a c set it's downright sexy. The curly lemonwood is a joy. It has a lovely warm tone, and that extra special flat pitch "nyah". Really, that SHOULD be a word, don't ya think?!

I'm a little late with this one but I think that the following YouTube clips feature this particular set of pipes:

My dear old grandmother could come up with a great turn of phrase, she'd say things like " If you have nothing good too say ,say nothing at all " she was a wise woman and I miss her .
