Well this doesn't really have to do with uilleann pipes, but I just had to share this with someone.

I made the Dean's List at my community college on Wednesday, and today I was accepted into Marquette University in Milwaukee WI.

I also was given a $9000 dollar a year scholarship because of my grades.

whew. wow. I'm still in shock.

ok, now back to my two essays that are due tomorrow, and the test tomorrow.

No rest for the wicked huh.

Sean,

Your pipe maker called. That'll be $9,400.00.
Oh, and would this be a good time to ask for that pint you owe me?

very funny.

I am still trying to scrounge up the funds to buy a practice set from the guys at the pipeworks of Boston, or anything used that comes along....

and my 20th birthday was jan 26th, so I would gladly buy you that pint....but I am not old enough. haha.

Congratulations and Happy Birthday too.

I do recall those early to mid 20’s being a rather good time.

Well done. Now don't go wasting all that money on college fees, books and other such luxuries.

I recall surprisingly little from those years.

Congrats for sure! I'm at UW milwaukee; if you end up down here, we'll have to meet some time, and you can out-pipe me ;)
