Word from Benedict Koehler

Post by DMQuinn »

Benedict has asked me to pass this along to interested parties:

Dear pipers,

I hope that this post and accompanying photo will explain why I have not been answering the shop phone for the last couple of weeks. I regret any inconvenience.

Thanks to the wonders of modern antibiotics, the good wishes and prayers of my friends and family, and the truly extraordinary care of my wife, I was released from hospital last Friday following a week of treatment for a really nasty bi-lateral pneumonia. I am currently resting quietly at home, trying to build back some strength, continuing antibiotic treatment, and keeping my fingers crossed that I may be done with the hospital.

I will resume work when I safely can but I have been told to expect a convalescence of 4 to 8 weeks. What you all can do for me is to refrain from calling as my stamina is very limited even on the phone, and express concerns, professional or otherwise, by mail. Wish me well and now go and spend some time with your significant other, your family and your friends.

All the best,
Benedict

Benedict,

You have my best wishes for a speedy and full recovery. Hope they're at least feeding you well in the hospital. The beard looks good. I vote you keep it!

Bill

David,

Thanks for letting us know about this. Then again......maybe Benedict shouldn't keep the beard. How would I tell you 2 apart?
