Post by teirw »

I have three.
Brian Howard Concert D
Brian Howard C#
Geoff Wooff C#
Crazy having two C# so the Wooff will be on Ebay soon unless I get a sensible offer before.

This is #3, it arrived yesterday. It is a Kennedy B chanter in ebony and boxwood. The mounts and windway were turned by David Boisvert, and what a tremedous job he did! These photos really do not do it justice. The reed, of course, is by me :D . This is a very handsome stick.

I'll eventually get around to recording a few MP3's with it in the near future.

I am very pleased to have joined club "B".

Thanks Davy.

I'm not certain. I do know I would like a C at some point.

Just one in D that sounds very good.

Unless I needed/wanted a chanter in another key, I'm the kind of person that will take forever to learn the nuances of just the one good chanter.

Um ... if the bore was turned by Mr. Boisvert, what makes it a Kennedy chanter? :-?

djm
I'd rather be atop the foothills than beneath them.

The bore wasn't turned by David, the mounts were. The chanter body was turned and bored by Kennedy. :D

Sorry, Ï couldn't figure out what you meant by "windway" so I guessed you meant the bore. So what are you referring to as the "windway"?

Sorry, it's just another (of a few) word for chanter cap. :D

Five chanters, three handguns.

Weird. If somebody posted that profile, I'd never have recognised myself. I won't bore you with the details, things are never quite what they seem, especially on the internet.

The handguns don't count, as they have cylindrical bores :D

As for me, 3 chanters. Firearms are OT, but let me just say you wouldn't want to go breaking into my house
