Made my first bag cover...

Post by ausdag »

...out of velveteeeeeeeeen an' lace trimmin' to go over my new 'roo skin bag. Kind of turned out a tad short so bag shows at the rear, although not as much in real life as appears in the pic, but no matter......

 You might consider a "no plumbers crack" sealed back. Like this http://www.allmannerofcoverage.com/imag ... dback6.jpg

YES.. thats a Sponge Bob on a leather GHB cover. NO I am not trying to sell anything. I have for the most part given up on making bag covers for sale. :boggle: Apparently velvet in any color but black.. and black but ony if its leather .. was not an ideal business model when selling bag covers primarily to GHB pipers.

So ... um ... just plain purple, is it? You couldn't have gone with, say, a nice zebra print, or maybe a holstein pattern? Nothing fancy, of course. No need to go whole hog like a leopard skin, or anything, but still .... :boggle:

I'd rather be atop the foothills than beneath them.

Nice work. Just don't go hanging corks on it.

Here's one my wife made for my spare practice set (the set has since been sold) :

Interesting. Actually, it was a toss-up between Black velvet and Purple. I like purple, evn Deep Purple, so I went with purple.

Just plain, but I'm considering adding 'Disco Stud' in silver studs on the outer side.

I take it you're referrring to the trimmings? KISS - Not good for everyone. Leo Rowsome's bag had this sort of trimmings (it's on one of his album covers), my first cover had the same trimmings -

When it comes to Uilleann pipes, KIS is out

Was the blowpipe section a separate piece of fabric sewn on?

Yes. It covers the clear plastic air-pipe which threw off the look of the set. We just used a cut-off to make it.

Thanks Joseph. I've always liked purple. Don't know what that's supposed to say about one's character though?? :)
