Hi Michael. Welcome to the UP forum :) . You are way ahead of me! I'm 56 and I'm getting my practice set in the spring. Oh well, better late than never, eh? That's great that you have a band with your brother and sister. You ought to post a picture!

Very nice website. I really enjoyed the video as well as the pictures. I like the real traditional music so the video was really a treat and well worth the visit. Real nice playing there. :)

Michael is way ahead of many of us in a great number of respects. He is a true young gentleman with demonstrable maturity, social skills that all parents wish for their children, and he is a doggone good piper for age 13 and time spent piping. Great whistle player too. In St Louis in April 05 he was playing a reel at speed, note for note and embellishmet for embellishment, with Joanie Madden. At the end of the tune, she being awestruck with his playing, remarked that he was gonna put her out of business someday.

His post reminds me that some of youse guys and gals, perhaps me included, ought to try harder to set good examples to one another. Let's not run this fella off or give cause for his folks to block access to C&F. He is here to immerse himself in the piping environment and to learn and contribute. And don't forget, be nice, as in a decade he may just be teaching you a thing or two at a tionol. Lewis

Well Michael, that's a pretty cool video and website, welcome aboard. When I was 13, I seem to remember that my only goal in life was to see how much mischief I could get up to :boggle:
Keep up the good work, and maybe you can post a sound clip of your pipes on clips 'n snips
All the best

Hi Michael,

I saw/heard you play at the O'Flaherty's retreat a couple of months ago with your siblings. It was fun to see you play with Jerry O'Sullivan, too.

I enjoyed the music very much.

Best, John

Hi Michael! I dunno if you remember me, but we've met a couple times at Irish Arts Week and the East Coast Tionol. I'm an 18 year old girl with short dark hair, I play the flute and sort of play the pipes. I sure remember you! You're very impressive. Welcome.

Welcome

I wish I had taken up the pipes that young or at least in my early twenties like I did the GHB's. You are at your best learning ability at your age. Keep up the good work.

Also, don't take some of the people here too seriously or you will end up being a surly piper.

Hi Michael and a BIG WELCOME! I had the pleasure of sitting across the room from you recently during the O'Flaherty Music Retreat. We were all under the magical spell of Jerry O'Sullivan. Of course me more than you, HI! HI!! You and I even talked a bit about C&F. I really enjoyed seeing the pictures of you and Paddy Keenan and sincerely hope our paths cross again soon. Keep up the good work! Clint

Welcome! (even though I'm still new in here myself ;))

I just watched the video from your band's homepage - really nice playing, I like your whistle style. Would be glad if I could hear your piping as well.

All the best,
Gabriel :)
