David Power - Good News, Bad News

Post by vanfleet »

Just got this email concerning the David Power piping workshop in Philadelphia in November:
Sorry to report that David has had to cancel the November 12th concert/workshop, he has accepted a role in a Broadway show, playing the pipes, acting and singing(with Gabriel Byrne). They open on Nov. 11th and run to the end of February. Bad for us, great for him.
We're going to try to reschedule him for March.
Regards,
Jon Ferrin
So this also answers the question of who might be cast in the Broadway production that was auditioning pipers! Congratulations, David!

NOOOOOO!!!!

I just got his CD, which is excellent. I hope he remembers us "wee folk" when he is rich and famous. 3 years from now, he will be married to Cate Blanchett, be lighting cigars with burning 50 dollar bills, and replace Pierce Brosnan as the next James Bond.

But he signed my CD, so when he wins his Acadamy Award, I will sell it on Ebay for mucho dinero.

Good on ya David! Road trip to NYC! See you in March!

Jaysus David,

I knew you were settling into life in the US, but I didn't expect a full-blown Touhey impression! Beware 'the business of the bench'.

Break a leg luvvie, and all that.

Regards,

H.

I suppose Mattie Connolly just looked too young for the role.

That poor guy!!! Forced to have his picture taken with those homely women. Poor, poor little man. :sniffle: :sniffle: :sniffle:

David certainly looks different as a blond. But seriously, David sang a song in the kitchen while he was in Salt Lake and it was quite good. I think he will be a good addition to the show.

I am okay with that! Okay, guys, the first annual South-Eastern (and Central, for Jim) Pennsylvania Pipers meeting will be held in London in March.

It has been a while since I had some real ale...
