Reck's Tape

Post by WallyS »

Tommy Reck's tape is no longer available from NPU. It is listed on the website, but after trying to order it was told it was unavailable. Website may be updated to reflect what they actually have as several of the tapes were also out.

I've often recommended "The Stone in the Field" as a calssic example of the use of closure in the service of phrasing.

The 1st one is Julia Clifford's and the 2nd one is Maggie in the Wood.

Both Brendan Begley and Mary Bergin play a different version at the 2nd part for Julia Clifford's polka to Tommy Recks version with I prefer

Brendan Begley button accordeon player plays Julia Clifford's polka recorded with the the boys of the lough CD "The west of Ireland"

Another CD found today on http://www.amazon.com/ by Mary Bergin Feadoga Stain 2

She also plays Julia Clifford's polka Sound file @ http://www.amazon.com/Feadoga-Stain-2-M ... B000000E87

... as long as you're in the US! (amazon won't let you purchase online music from most other countries)
