I've dealt with Zero Cases for work related packaging. They have an enourmous case size inventory, BUT, to get a one off case would cost a lot of money. I f we all pooled our money, like 20 pieces for a 30x10x5 (in keeping with the FAA 45 inch rule) deep drawn case with hardware, they may want to do it. They make awesome cases. I have two of them, camera gear related, and have had pardon the pun, zero, problems. They are relocated from Burbank, CA to Salt Lake, so maybe our new Salt Lake brethren can take the lead. If its good enough for field hardware, then its good enough for me.

ZH makes a case that's 22x32x10 inches . . . hmm, you could put a lot of foam in that . . . and it has a roller!

And it's only $1100!

the stool is actually kind of low. i keep it in the case just in case whwere i am doesn't have a suitable chair without arms (at gravesides, sometimes no chair at all!).

it was a freebie from a car manufacturer. it has a triangular cloth seat supported by three legs that are joined at the middle by a disk-type-thing that they all pass thru, so you don't unfold the chair so much as you "untwist" it.

very similar to the ones near the bottom of this page

Thanks, Antaine, your folding stool is a neat idea. I couldn't imagine what kind of stool you could get into a pipe case.

yeah...i'm kind of obsessed with having everything (and i mean EVERYTHING) I could ever need in the case with the instrument. When leaving the house i want to grab one box and know that everything i need (music, stand, extra strings, valve oil, spare bows, tools for everything from setting soundposts to installing a new peg, tailpiece, or bridge, or whatever else the case might be.) As you can imagine, learning the flute has presented me wiht a crisis lol

I have one of those folding stools as well for when I play on the street. They're rather light-weight and work quite well, even if you're somewhat low to the ground. It straps on perfectly to my case.
