Does anybody have a clue who made this chanter? I thought of J. R. but he answered that he had not made it and proposed that the R could stand for Roberts? Maybe the C on the stamp did not come out too well and could be taken for a J?
I had bought this Matt Kiernan - fullset (nostalgic reasons - my first practise-set was by Matt) ~ 15 years ago and it had this chanter on it.

Re: chanter identification
I have a set of Charles Roberts Northumbrian pipes and have just checked to see if there is a similar stamp. However the only stamp is on the stock ferrule and reads C. ROBERTS SLIGO.

Yes, thanks, I meanwhiie heard the same from a friend of mine, who had a Roberts-set (Uilleann Pipes): The stamp is as such.
