Vielen Dank für die bessere Übersetzung. Deutsch ist nicht leicht für mich!!

Maybe one reamer out of one type of metal, another reamer out of another metal?

Das gleiche gilt für mich mit Englisch

Uups, I thougth the translation was made by a "machine", but if you do the translation by yourself if have to apologize a second time, the "original" text is full of wrong orthography and bad jokes, so it must be a hard work to do

I dont understand your question.
Do you mean the translation or the reamer ?
If you mean the reamer I think it is better not to use this topik longer because this topik is named : "Tonal colourings of Ebony and Blackwood"
and not "Reamer"

(I'm really a little bit surprised that nobody said :" if you want to talk of reamer and not wood please open a new topik", this happens often in (german) forums)

magaeb,
cross-posting is not a problem.

hehe..I meant the reamer. But now that you mention it, perhaps the translator (me) needs the reamer too! Image (I think I'll stick with Englisch) I was wondering if reamers are made from different types of metals, for different purposes, and if so..which types?

Hi there,
is there some software available to make some FTT analysis with a computer ... I mean recording the analysis when playing a not or testing a reed ...

Cheers,

Nicolas.

Hi Nicolas,

if you "need" only a "rough" FTT try this

"Whats all the fuss all a bout"

"Ebony for Uilleann pipes" Blackwood for scottish Highland pipes, my Grandfather was a piper and the saying was the Queen of Chanters is made of Ebony for good all around playing and he played highland pipes, now they tend to use Blackwood it handles moisture better than Ebony unless treated, and I'm not to keen on the tone of blackwood.
