I have some performances coming up and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for what types of mics to use and mic set up tips. Thanks!

Are your performances solo? small acoustic ensemble? celtic rock band?
Small, mid, large venues?
Are you providing your own sound gear or sending a tech spec to a sound engineer?
These might alter the advice.

I have one solo gig and one with a small trad group (all acoustic instruments with mics).
