The little exercise above sounds cool, but where exactly in a tune would you use it?

You can hear it in many solo recordings of the uilleann pipes, but if you don't know what to listen for, try Ken Ricketts playing Lark in the Morning on Snips and Clips and listen for the toneless pip-ity-pip between notes in the 3rd section.

Okay, sounds like they fit in where you might do something like a series of rolls. I was fooling around with this on a few tunes and found that they seemed to fit -- for example -- on the first bit of the Kesh Jig where I'd normally go from a G roll or GFG triplet to an A roll or an ACA triplet. Also tried them on the last phrase of the A part of a Cup of Tea where you go down the scale in thirds. That f-- up the rhythm.
