Horses aside...

Here's a video of Eammon Murray playing a Light Line:

I've heard that someone is coming out with a line of "pre-stressed" bodhran that have been pre-conditioned by a heavy steam roller.

Tune up your drones,
Let flee that heavenly tone."

Just have your friend buy this one and be done with it: http://anchorage.craigslist.org/msg/1681584464.html

If they get something for $100 they will regret it and so will everyone that ever plays with them. It'll be worth it especially if they are planning on playing it at all.

The Christian Hedwitschak light's look excellent too - and for that price you won't get better.

Deliver some newspapers or mow some lawns or maybe skip a few meals out and your friend will have enough saved.

Just trying to be helpful :really:

Hi Pat

Have to agree with you on this topic - the 36cm by 13cm Light Line 2.0 "Compact" looks like the best option. I think buying the Alphonso drum on craigslist from Alaska would cause a few problems.

Hi!

Seamus son Dermaid O'Kane have been making nice drums by himself for a while now.
http://www.tradcentre.com/diarmaid

Occasionally he has some drums up on eBay.co.uk that I have seen go for as little as 150 EUR.
I got one of his 14" drums and even if the construction is quite simple and plain the dynamics of the skin compares well to my
Meatloaf drum by Rob Faulkner.

14" is a perfect size if you get a drum with a good skin
