Sean Talty recordings and/or videos?

I'm trying to find any recorded material by Sean Talty without luck, except for a snippet of him playing The Gold Ring on a Youtube clip. Can anyone point me to anything?

There are, as usual, some private tapes floating about. He sometimes appears on RTE. He has recorded one track on a tape Clare FM brought out during the nineties and he played a bit on Martin Vaughan's tape, some eight years ago.
There is also a track on the Ceol agus Foinn CD.

Séan does as pipers do here: he doesn't play them out all that often, sticking to the portability and convenience of whistle, flute or fiddle.



He lives up the road from me by the way.
You should hear his 15 year old son Cian, who now has the Harrington Bflat.

Aah yes, that's a lovely set, the Bb, I was wondering who the maker was, I figured it was vintage. That's what he was playing on the video clip I saw. Oh well...I was hoping there was something out there that was easy to obtain even though I knew there was nothing commercial available.

The interview I pointed out is well worth the two or three clicks required to access it. Unless you don't have RealAudio installed, in which case it's about five or six clicks...

I sometimes wonder if it's worth the bother too, but then I decide it is! No different than playing the pipes I guess...

I realized with both that it sometimes works out to a 5:1 ratio. 5 units of time spent messing about with things for 1 unit of time in bliss!

I can understand the idea of not bringing the pipes out much. I play the flute as well and if I go out to play at a session (an infrequent occurrence) I have that. Between the wonky climate here and the fact that I play a flat set means I tend to enjoy them mainly at home.

On a side note, is his Harrington Bb set unaltered, and is that the original chanter?

Nice interview on the Rolling Wave segment, thanks Jumper.

Interesting, he mentions that at one point the pipes were not very common in Clare. I can't remember where I read it, but I recall seeing this elsewhere, and in fact reading that the pipes and pipers held with a certain level of disdain compared to fiddle and concertina.

I have a CD on which there's a track by Sean Talty playing A stor mo chroi followed by the beauty spot. Wonderful piping ! I think this CD was released in France only though.
