B&B between Doolin & Galway run by a piper & his

Post by pete_grant »

When at McGann's Pub in Doolin, Co. Clare the Summer of 2003, I met and played with a piper and his wife that have a B&B somewhere between Doolin and Galway. I'll be playing up in Galway on the 19th and thought it might be fun to stay there. Does anyone have any contact information or the name of the B&B?

Thanks for the link. I'll keep that one in mind when I'm in nearby Dingle.

The one I'm looking for is northeast of Doolin and vaguely on the way from Doolin to Galway.

I've stayed here http://www.creggcastle.com/ with Pat and Ann Marie Broderick

Pat is a great traveller style piper and a very welcoming host. You wouldn't go wrong staying there for a few days. He is always happy to sit with another piper. It is very convenient to Galway city and some nice tunes and friendly people in the pubs in Corrandulla.

Hope this helps...

Hey, that's it. Thanks!

Actually I play dobro and pedal steel, and will be sitting in on dobro with a piper friend and guitar friend in Galway on 19 June.

I'm looking forward to seeing Pat and Ann Marie again and doing some playing.

Thanks, again.

I'll double the Cregg Castle stay reccomendation. It's a great place to stay and Pat and Ann Marie are good hosts. The younger crowd that lives/works there is a bunch of fun as well. Be sure to say hi to Johnny the donkey when you stay.
