I have considered it, but have not heard it done. Seems as though it would lend itself to the pipes very well.

It's a nice tune. It sounds Scottish. Who composed it?

The fiddle tune comes from Scottish singer-songwriter Dougie MacLean. It was originally published as "The Gael" on his 1991 album "The Search", which was commissioned as a soundtrack for the Official Loch Ness Monster Exhibition in Drumnadrochit. I was on my way to the Isle of Skye in 1991, stopped by the museum for a cheap tourist thrill, liked the music and bought the CD in the gift shop. I ended up becoming a big fan of his songwriting. For those of you in SoCal, Dougie is playing at Neighborhood Church in Pasadena on March 26.

Dougie MacLean is a mighty song writer.

Thanks Chad. I am a big fan of Dougie MacLean. I saw him at McCabb's in 1993. I would like more details on that.
