Website for Brad Angus

Post by Kevin L. Rietmann »

I have produced a website for pipemaker Brad Angus: http://pageproducer.arczip.com/halfandhalf/index.html. It has plenty of pictures of sets he's made, early work as well as the latest, and a detailed description of how he builds pipes. Nothing fancy here, just a personal web page built using a Mickey Mouse HTML designer, but it gets the job done. I'll be adding to it when I get the chance, too; if you have any private comments you'd like to send my way use rietmann@arczip.com. I will be registering it with the various search engines in the next few days, until then you'll need to enter the URL by hand, searching for "Angus Uilleann" and the like won't do any good, although searching for "Brad Angus" will yield plenty of information on cattle ranching...

Kevin, just a couple of comments (intended to be constructive, not a dis). It is a regularly recommended standard to start your page design for a 600 x 400 window to accommodate users at lower resolution. All your photos could be much brighter. I use JASC Paintshop Pro, but any similar package will do.

Hope that helps,

djm

How do you put that in HTML? (Screen resolution)

Some of the pictures are of sets that are out in the wild now, too late to get a better photo. I'll be on Brad's case to take some better snaps of ones that he still has in his shop. The one of the Bb on bricks looks best to me, that's outdoors.

What? No picture of the pipemaker himself, or his colorful old house of renown? :D Nice work Kevin!

Hi Kevin

Nice website for brad, has he seen it? How's he going to answer all the emails?

I'm coming to Portland on the 15th of this month. Hope to see you there,

Cheers,

Giles

Tell the browser the height and width you want it to show.

Code: Select all

<IMG SRC="./photos/clifftop0308.jpg" height=480 width=640>

Uh...ok Phil...Image

Ooops! Try again. You can email me the quote if you want. Thanks everybody for all the technical advice, I've read a bit about HTML and all that but haven't dirtied my hands with it before.
Hey ya Giles. Heard you were headed our way. Brad's figured out what email is, at least...I think that's as far as it's going to go.

Oops again...

My browser didn't show your photo at first, Phil, it looked like you entered the URL tags incorrectly, I just got a box with the little rectangle with an X in it. Hence my above smart remark. It's working now for some reason.

Yah, I am used to vboard and I'm not used to the quirks of phpBB yet. You must have hit it during my editing.
