It's the same clip you posted last night isn't it? I don't think posting it again while the other post is three threads down isn't really going to speed things up or get a better result.

Anyhow, that said, I can't really decipher your first part but I do recognise the second part. What it is may come to me yet.

Thanks a lot for your answer. I did post it again, since I wasn't sure my question in the first post was well formulated:-)
And I would be very gratefull if you could let me know once it has come to your memory.

Kinds regards from Brittany

Looking for something else I just found a scrap of paper with the scribbles of the tune, but no indication of where it came from or what it may be. A quick search based on the notation didn't get me anything either.

Thanks a lot anyway. Perhaps someone else might be lucky, and if not..... so be it, I'll play an unknown tune.

Which tune are you trying to figure out the title of? The jig is Whelan's. Can't place the reel but it's familiar.

Please use box.net or soundcloud for these things, too, so we can listen to them without having to download the file and then open it.

Yes thank you. Image

I was told off at concertina.net recently for only mentioning a file was download only. Image
If, however, you live on the planet earth just hit the download button and get the file for free.

Is the concertina site still a no-holds barred flamefest? I've read some of the threads there with these incorrigible snobs heaping abuse on Anglos, pretty funny stuff really.

Figured out your reel: Sgt. Early's Dream, in E minor instead of the usual Dmin, or the Amin the Sarge himself would have played it in, going by what's in O'Neill's.

Phew. Hate these earworms, mystery tunes, drives me nuts. Thesession.org is a better website for solving these things too, bigger audience and some real tune anoraks hang out there.

No, it's generally pretty civilised.

Thank you all together. I do not really understand the concertina stuff, maybe I missed something, but thanks for the title of the tune.

Take care

Concertina.net appears to harbour less trolls than this forum and there are actually knowledgeable people amongst the "incorrigable snobs" whereas it would appear that more of the better minds have fled this place. :really:

Thankyou Moderator I will certainly direct my complaints to you when I have anything serious enough to warrant such action.

Untill then I think we all know to what I am refering, in a general way that is. So, if your comment is meant to chastise me for mine then I will vote with my feet too.

Happy piping to all,
Geoff.
