They are a little behind as it was done over a hundred years ago so is not a new invention.

Details are: 1902 / UK Patent 27279 / Figaniere. P / Graduated tuning slide for Wind Instruments incl. Bagpipes (a short section that held the reed could be adjusted in and out without removing the reed)

Andreas Rogge has developed a new kind of tuning-slide für Regs and Chanter without unplugging for sets, that he makes.
