Maurice Coyne

Post by Uilliam »

Seeing that a couple o ye have been flagging up a particular maker of late and his after sales etc etc I thought I would balance the books so to speak and praise the works of Maurice Coyne.A fine pipemaker and way ahead of his time..( judging by some o the sets oot there today).I just want to say thankye Maurice fer a job well done. The fact that yoor sets are still much sought after speaks volumes and is the prototype for many of todays makers "innovative" features...

Ye would be glad o the wait at the cemetery gates methinks. The ones that are up and running cannot be beaten for perfection( withoot all the wee gizmos). He got it right and went wi it.He was not one o the" if it ain't broke lets fix it merchants."
So once again heres to Maurice Coyne pipemaker par l'excellence, and to those few pipemakers who follow his path with faithfull copies.....
Long may ye do so and extend the life of a troooly remarkable pipemaker. Image

I've got to second Uilliam on that one, my Haneman C# half-set is patterned "after Coyne".

Cheers to Coyne, to Bill for keeping the tradition going, and to Uilliam for the reminder!
Get down on your knees and thank God you're on your feet !
