Tell us something.: I am interested in the uilleann pipes and their typical -and broader- use. I have been composing and arranging for the instrument lately. I enjoy unusual harmonic combinations on the pipes. I use the pipes to play music of other cultures.

Update version 1.1 of PipeKeys and PipeKeysB, which adds additional regulator touch zones above the lowest two white keys (to help when playing along with the bottom D and low E where the touch spacing is quite close), has been submitted to Apple for approval.

Should show up as a free update in a few days.

UillitinaC and PipeKeysC, based on a completely new set of audio samples from my former C set, have been submitted to Apple for approval. Huge thanks to K. Padraig O'Kane, current owner of the set, for providing the recordings.

Video demo of PipeKeysC at:
http://drop.io/PipeKeysC/asset/pipekeyscdemo-mpg
(slight audio distortion due to hosting service re-compression)

Higher quality audio-only version available at:
http://drop.io/PipeKeysC/asset/pipekeysc-mp3
Click on the "Download" button to get the original .mp3 audio file. Don't play the online version, it has also been poorly re-compressed.

Screen capture:

Pitch bending and finger vibrato is done by sliding the finger along the length of the key.

Regulators may be played either in the two dedicated touch zones at the upper left of the screen or the top and bottom halves of the lowest C and C# keys.

Just received word that UillitinaC is now available on the iTunes App store. This, and the keyboard version, PipeKeysC (also now available) are by far my favorite apps, I love the new samples from my old C set:

Now offering a free version, PipeKeysLite, which has the same drones and regulators as the full version, but only provides a one octave chanter range:

Also a UillitinaLite, a free version of the English concertina based UI, similar one octave range as the free version of PipeKeys:

Many Scottish pipe tunes can be played in the one octave range on either app.

Nothing really on the horizon other than a few updates to the existing apps. I want to add the 3rd regulator to the PipeKeys apps and probably some form of accelerometer based expression as an option on the English concertina apps.
