I'm afraid I can't recommend Duolingo at all...not judging by the number of puzzled people who have come to me with odd constructions from that program, most of which were out-and-out mistakes. The pronunciation is iffy too. A "free" program is only advantageous if it teaches correctly. Crowd-sourcing may work well for fundraising, but it's no decent way to teach a language. Mistakes learned as a beginner are among the hardest to correct down the road.
