Double posts
Hi
I'm new here and have only posted a few times. I must be doing something wrong as I see my posts are listed twice when I have replied to someone (whistle forum)
I would really appreciate someone explaining to me just why this is happening. I don't want to annoy folks with my stupidity, and I admit that I am a techno-idiot so please make it a simple explanation
Thanks!!

Sometimes if you are not patient (as I often am) and you hit submit more than Once it can cause a double. If no one posts before you do, you can always go to your last post and hit the X in the upper right to delete your post, or you can simply choose the edit button and say duplicate post. Most of the people have done this in the past. Not me, but others have.

Yes, I've had that happen. You can click Submit and, when the computer is slow, it really doesn't appear that anything is happening, so then you click it again and you get a double post. You don't want to leave because every once in while nothing did happen and then you would lose your post. Everyone understands, don't worry. Delete it if you can, if not then no one is bothered. If it happens to you alot, then you must be clicking twice routinely because it seems slow---so yep, just click once and wait and see if you find a difference. In fact, maybe you feel you should click twice, since one does on many occasions have to click twice. So, just click once. I'm sorry for this terrible explanation. Welcome to the forums. Some of us are a bit wack-o!

But also sometimes it just does it on its own. I've double-posted before when I was certain that I hadn't pressed "submit" more than once. The technology of phpBB is not perfect, and sometimes it just messes up a little bit...I.D.10-t wrote:Sometimes if you are not patient (as I often am) and you hit submit more than Once it can cause a double.
