Sticking key?

Post by Hoovorff »

I've got a key pad on my Irish flute that is sticking a bit. I oiled it recently and did put some papaer under the key pad to protect it, but didn't use plastic like I usually do. :(

Does anyone know a way to de-stick the pad? I've tried using cigarette-type paper to soak it up, but it's still a bit sticky.

Thanks for any ideas!

jeweler's talcum powder or any unscented (preferably) talcum powder is perfect for this. You will want to dust the pad surface with some, and then blow off any excess.
