Or perhaps they did not want to be labelled with a meaningless label?

Some people conclude that if they can't see the meaning in a thing
it must be meaningless.

Such a conclusion is always relatively true but may not be absolutely so.

Well, Dale could have objected to this, but so far, so good.

Anyway, Dale did create another website.

Use it, or loose it!

Or perhaps 'post-structural', a 'natural evolution' in thinking, and as a label (or any label for that matter), both connote determinism and thus structure?

I'm more interested in the pub part.

I rather prefer the meaningless labels....is that wrong?

Actually, I don't remember why I made the ning site, unless it was a back-up in case this one had a prolonged outage. I wish I could say I had a better mysterious plan.

Dale just liked saying the word "ning". Ning! Ning!

Very annoying ...

Hello, musicians!

Everybody here at Chiff & Fipple knows that ITM is the mainstay of this board.

Yet, there is another Chiff & Fipple board where you may speak, independently.

http://chiffandfipple.ning.com/

Hmm? It appears that the latest entry was by Dale himself.

Use it, or lose it!

Tell us something.: Been a fluter, citternist, and uilleann piper; committed now to the way of the harp.

Oh, yeah: also a mod here, not a spammer. A matter of opinion, perhaps.

Yes, you posted about the site already on this thread's first page, on the first post.

I have gone into the business of advertising, not to make any money at it but just for the fun of it. :-D

The good news is that such advertising really does work. Participation on the other board has increased.

So, come on, all musicians! C&F 2.0 is a nearly blank slate just waiting for your input.

Oh, BTW, my advertising is limited to only this board, the original C&F 1.0

Please put a cork in it, Cork, so to speak.

It's Dale's site, and it's up to him how he chooses to publicize it here or there beyond what he has already done. Presuming to speak for Dale is presumptuous at best.

The ning site was created primarily as a backup meeting and information point for times when the Chiffboard was down, during a time when that was becoming a regular occurrence. Since then, changes to our hosting arrangements have largely solved the underlying problems. But the ning site can still serve that purpose.

If there is to be any debate or discussion about this, or publicity, the Flute Forum is certainly not the place. There's nothing about the backup site that is flute-specific.

Dale, naturally, should participate in any discussion. But as most here know, Dale has recently been quite ill in hospital, and is still unwell. To stir up a matter which would require his attention, having "fun" at the expense of his recovery, would be unseemly at this time.

Enough said, I think. Thanks.
