How old are you to qualify as a geezer. I'm turning 50 this November, and I just received an application to become of member of AARP (American Association of Retired Persons).

Would I get more respect around here as a flute geezer? What are the qualifications?

This track is actually "Kiss the Maid Behind the Barrel" followed by "Trim the Velvet" -- one of those crazy Sligo sets where the two tunes are so much alike you can blink and not notice the the difference.

Bless you, bang! Over the years I've filled in a good number of the blanks, but not all of 'em.

Speaking of great resources, there's some lovely stuff on Brother Steve's Tinwhistle site, too. Most of it's whistle, but there are Patsy Hanly, Paddy Carty, and Eddie Maloney flute clips on there as well. All the playing is awe-inspiring (Micho Russell, Joe Bane, Keiran Collins, Brid O Donohue, etc.), and the notes & transcriptions are gold beyond measure.

As William says, the second of these is "Flowers of Red Mill".
jmc2 - "Floating Crowbar"
Which is aka "Rathcroghan Reel", as Jason has it.
patsyh3 - "Anderson's" - "The Wild Irishman"
Second one is "Flowers of Red Mill" again. Unless this is both an AKA for that tune that thesession.org doesn't know, and a third tune with the "Wild Irishman" moniker.

fwiw, there is a note at thesession.org that Paul McGrattan and Paul O'Shaughnessy play it as a Sligo version of "The Wild Irishman" on "Within a Mile of Dublin".

I was basing my numbers off of the website. I don't have any other copy of it other than what I got from there.
