Solen Lesouef - flutes & whistles

Just a "heads up" posting - beautiful looking flutes and whistles from Breton maker Solen Lesouef (her website) and a current thread on the C&F Whistle Forum that prompted this post.

Very unusual and distinctive kinky key-work!

Solen, do you do a full 8-key version? I'm really curious how that would look with your dragonesque keys!

yeah, me too. I tried to find the clips in the English version, but my browser said the English version isn't available, although, I see English words.

The link to Solen's site I posted in the head post works fine for me, direct to the English language version of her site. For the clips, click on "Gallery", then on the picture of whistles, and they're there on that page.

See if these work for the clips. There are no flute ones (yet).

Oh Jem! You are too kind. There is no greaterhonour than to find your work on the chiffboard...and you have been so nice.

I have put a flute sample now that you mention it. Again it's only me playing...

I had problems getting into my own site today. I got there in the end clicking refresh a bit and being patient. I think it's just some kind of internetty glitch....should sort itself out.

The eight keyed flute no- one ever asked for one so I didn't do it yet....Funny that it ws mentioned the "dragonesque keys". I love Dragons!
I have been dreaming of making myself a Dragon styled flute for about a year. I've done the drawings. I've turned the tubes...but they are waiting..and it's gonna be in snakewood so I really have to let it settle....It's going to have a a Dragons head stylised in the foot joint keys, with the body going along the flute....

Nice clip, Solen - the flute sounds at least as nice as it looks! We just need a clip of a low Bb and the low whistle now....... fine playing too.
I like the idea of your Dragon flute. Truly fantastic! 'Twill probably breathe fire!

If you get that error message in French, I am usually able to resolve it by clicking on the English button up top.

i might think about buying a keyless one if the old german flute i bought recently (hasn't arrive yet) won't work as i wish...
