just thought I'd say hi, have been lurking for awhile, thought I'd like to put in my 2 cents every now and then. I have one of Terry's prattens and will soon have one of Jon C.'s r&r's I hope. Learning the diddly one tune at a time.

Tell us something.: I restore 19th century flutes, specializing in Rudall & Rose, and early American flutes. I occasionally make new flutes. Been at it for about 15 years.

thanks for the welcome. to answer the questions, i came to play the flute after being a string guy for forty years because a freind offered me a flute. i didn't buy it but he planted the seed, sort of figured if he could learn i should be able to as well. i played old time, bluegrass ,swing and blues on the fiddle and mandolin, always promised myself that i would dive into irish stuff, then i got my first flute and became obsessed, now i don't feel right unless i pick up the flute every day, have taken a couple courses from catherine mcevoy, my fingers are a little slow but i'm having fun.
