I try to imagine myself with a similar lot of flute body parts. I think that I would fit pieces together to see if I could make one or more usable frankenflutes. After I had satisfied myself that the other parts could not easily be fitted together or easily repaired, I would offer the remaining pieces "as is" in a lot.

Hey Doug,

Or you could use the keys (all appear to be post or rod) and offer your first keyed flute! :D

Tell us something.: I restore 19th century flutes, specializing in Rudall & Rose, and early American flutes. I occasionally make new flutes. Been at it for about 15 years.

Kind of looks like my workbench... :swear:
You wonder where all those missing flute parts end up, it is the same with socks that vanish in the dryer...

Hmm it seems like loosing one flute bit might be an accident, but so many seems careless.

The socks are no mystery the sock Gnomes take them and wear them as hats.

A gatling flute, you could have all the different keys on the same flute rather like double necked guitars, strong wrists might be needed tho.

Uh-oh, do I see a clarinet body in that woodpile? Maybe a special bonus prize!

That little flute in back -- F? G?

Tell us something.: I play the first flute Jon Cochran ever made but haven't been very active on the board the last 9-10 years. Life happens I guess...I owned a keyed M&E flute for a while and I kind of miss it.

You have a flute that needs a head?

Long odds that any of those parts will even fit together let alone create a flute that is in tune with itself.

Of course, its not impossible.

Sitting on my desk right now I have a fully functioning 8 key black wood Frankenflute made from three different flutes and its in tune and has a nice stong tone. It took a little work to get it there... and I was very lucky to have a body that was in tune.
