Welcome back, C&F - we missed you.
In celebration of St. Patrick's Day 2024, I've uploaded a few flute audio clips to Youtube,
1 - 3 reels by Desi Wilkinson on Bb flute - accompanied by a few photos I took of Desi on trips to Scotland in the late 1970s / 1980s - ie, when we all had hair.

2 - A slide, "Colonel Fraser" and "The Blackbird" hornpipe - played at the 1976 All-Ireland Senior Flute Competition in Buncrana, Co. Donegal. un-named player.

3 - I was very pleased to have come across this when listening to the old cassette tapes, and checking against notes made in the programme at the time. This clip has the 4 tunes played by PEG McGRATH when she became only the second woman to win the Senior All-Ireland flute title since Fleadhs started in 1951. Apart from the LP record she made with the Belfast "Cherish The Ladies" trio, I am not aware of many other recordings of her, although there are a few, including video clips on Youtube.

There was a previous Peg M. thread. that listed some more suggestions. wink:kenny wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 4:32 pm/quote] 4 tunes played by PEG McGRATH when she became only the second woman to win the Senior All-Ireland flute title since Fleadhs started in 1951. Thanks Mr. G. I must have missed that discussion, 5 years ago now, but I look forward to chasing up the Comhaltas link you included.
