Re: FORGET PRACTICE

If only I could regain those days as a kid when I had to mark the chart with that day's 20 minute practice session on the clarinet!

Time playing for me feels like such a gift, now. And I sometimes feel a little guilty about it, in view of the other obvious unfinished chores.

There are days I play for half an hour, days I play for five minutes, and days I miss entirely because the kids are already in bed by the time I get five minutes to play. But I at least LISTEN every day. That helps immeasurably.

And I check the chiffboard on my lunch hour! :)

I play a fair amount every day, but I don't know that I;d call it "practice." Usually I reserve that term for when I am trying to accomlish something deliberately - either pick up a new technique or a new tune. But most of the time I noodle.
