Assuming you are talking about the molded clogs and not the wider array of cheap footwear carrying the Crocs" brand.

Several close friends and relatives love them and wear nothing but them all year round, even in the winter. They suggested that they would cure all of my ills. Yes, I said "all of my ills".

I bought a pair. They solved nothing (not surprised) and caused a few new things. They are not for my feet or the rest of my body. Just one person's experience.

I do think the name is appropriate.

Yes, of course. Crocs heels and wedges and the rest are a sign of the apocalypse.

Tell us something.: Hi Nano. I was somewhat active on the Chiffboards maybe 5 or 6 years ago, participating in several whistle tours (Bracker, Hardy, Ellis). I took a break from the Chiffboards, and music mostly, for several years because I got a full-time job and had a baby. I'm easing back into the music, though (which is great, I missed it). It's good to be back!

They make your feet look like a whiffle ball, IMHO.

I see the crocs around a lot, really a lot! Very popular and I wouldn't know if they were cheap, expensive, real thing, knock offs, or just a fad thing. I can't wear them, but, where I see them the most is in hospitals, or walk-in clinics by both medical personnel and patients. I also see them at the beach, malls, and elsewhere.

Maybe I'm missing something.

BTW, at the moment I'm wearing snow boots as I just shoveled that white stuff. 20 degrees and still coming down.
Can't do that in crocs!

Can we do a snow boot poll after this one? Might be more relevant to those of us in the deep freeze portions of the world. Still snowing here too, ytleik.

I dare say some would. My wife's uncle wears the "real tree" camo exterior, faux sherling lined interior style all winter long.

And ... are Uggs appropriately named?

I've been using these lately.

But only around the house.
And if questioned under oath I will disavow any knowlege of them.

After breaking one too many toes by stumbling into things around the house, I decided I need to wear something harder than socks at home. Something super comfortable and super easy. Crocs are perfect piggy protectors, and they're no uglier than my actual toes.

Finally, a compelling argument.

Tell us something.: I'm a fiddler and, latterly, a fluter. I love the flute. I wish I'd always played it. I love the whistle as well. I'm blessed in having really lovely instruments for all of my musical interests.

They enjoyed a brief spell of being worn here in the UK. Not by many, but a noticeable some. Now, I haven't seen anyone wearing any for probably 5 years or more. Can't say I'm sorry ...

 Actually, he looks like he's quite enjoying that shoe. Obviously, a reptile of good taste, literally.

I was just watching a vid of someone demonstrating some electronics stuff. And the British presenter pointed out the crocodile clips at the ends of his test leads. Which didn't strike me as off until I realized that here they are always and only alligator clips.
