The egg rules the world
As my wife's Grandma got older and her mind failed more and more, she had a saying that she would repeat every now and then and more often as her mind failed. This was the saying:
"The egg rules the world."
She would never explain what this meant, even when her mind was clear. Have any of you ever heard of this saying? I ask because Grandma comes from an Irish background. This only comes to mind now because Lent has started which means Easter is just around the corner and Easter is an egg holiday.

She had a secret life playing Sonic the Hedgehog games, and was referring to Doctor Eggman?

Are you sure she wasn't saying "The Yegg rules the world"?
Seems like that way to me, and it makes more sense.
Just consider the phrase "America Gonif". (Gonif is spelled, and pronounced, in a number of different ways.)

Positive she was not saying "Yegg". Everyone's interpretation, except emm's, is pretty much what I thought this whole time. I'm guessing from your replies that you've never heard anyone else say this. Maybe someone will respond that they have.

Maybe she was just really hungry and wanted some breakfast.

Did she mention whether it was a good egg or a bad egg? Lady Gaga has an egg.

So... that would be Crookedtune's interpretation, then.mutepointe wrote:

Had she possibly solved the chicken-or-egg problem in favor of the egg?

I always thought Rover looked like an egg, Number Six certainly discovered that Rover ruled.

I thought I would have fresh eggs by now..but lucky me..they were all roosters..ALL.
What made it even worse is they banded together into an evil gang of rogue Rhode Island Red Roosters who attacked anything that moved.
I ate one this evening.

I have visions of you eating it raw, feathers and all.
Up the Cregagh Road in Belfast there used to be a fast-food joint called the Red Rooster. It attracted an unsavoury clientele. We used to call it the Rude Rester.

Re: The egg rules the world
Maybe the roosters were psychic and going rogue because they knew they had nothing left to lose. Another solution would have been importing a hen or two. That would have relived the tensions.
