Lambs to the slaughter
I'm saying it'll be 4-0 to England on Saturday with a Rooney hat-trick. How can we not humiliate you?
"Last night, among his fellow roughs,
He jested, quaff'd and swore."
They cut me down and I leapt up high
I am the life that'll never, never die.
I'll live in you if you'll live in me -
I am the lord of the dance, said he!
He jested, quaff'd and swore."
They cut me down and I leapt up high
I am the life that'll never, never die.
I'll live in you if you'll live in me -
I am the lord of the dance, said he!

Re: Lambs to the slaughter
I don't know, but I note that for some years now, the UK has been managing to autohumiliate at the world cup.
And now there was no doubt that the trees were really moving - moving in and out through one another as if in a complicated country dance. ('And I suppose,' thought Lucy, 'when trees dance, it must be a very, very country dance indeed.')

I nominate this for the title of best word I've heard all year.s1m0n wrote: autohumiliate

Hadn't thought of that. Rooting for autohumiliation may be the best bet for U.S. fans.
Let's see, would a red-card to Rooney qualify ?
Now that would be ignominious.

If not Rooney then one of the other numpties will do something stupid. Even Beckham was not immune from autohumiliation and managed to get himself red-carded in years gone by.

I'll be wearing my kilt and my cowboy shirt and boots, with a stetson if I can find one.

Re: Lambs to the slaughter
Anyone else think those buzzy-trumpet things they're honking on down there should be given the RED card ?

That would be like banning those girlies with the legs and the fluffy skirts who jump up and down at American football games. Nah!
